You didn’t link to any Charity. Ours is charity-able-advice though.
Okay, it is now finished! Everyone should be up :) thank you!

Okay, thank you! Also did I get the right Charity? For some reason I feel like I’ve followed two different, recent, ones?
Everything has been updated! The info page was done (added that RPG link), and all of the ask blogs have been linked. I would appreciate it greatly if you guys could check up on them and make sure I haven’t forgotten or missed anything, but I think I got most of it!
I’ve got the next two days off work, and I told them that if they tried to call me in I wasn’t going to answer my phone…and I meant it. So I’m going to try and get some things in the queue for the next week or so :) I’m so glad to be back and see everything again!
(still working on following people…it will only let me follow so many at a time, but I’ll catch up eventually!)
windofthenorth replied to your post: the reason that incantations need to be in other languages, if i recall correctly, is to create a thought barrier between magic and everyday speech. if your word for fire was “fire,” you might accidentally set things on fire every time you discussed heating your home. as for objects, harry constantly says that they don’t contain magic of their own, but rather serve as focii for one’s thoughts and evergies.
That’s exactly what it is. I believe Harry said as much in…Blood Rites, I think it was.
Thanks for all the answers everyone!

windofthenorth replied to your post: Maybe you can help me out. I recall in one of the books, Harry talking about how magic works. Like, why he uses wands and staves as foci, and why incantations have to be in another language (so as to not burn the mind or something). Would you happen to know in which book this happens? I’m pretty sure it was not in the last three books, at least.
I remember this being mentioned in several books. Storm Front, being the first book, is the most likely to mention it, and Blood Rites dealt a LOT with the science behind magic.

I believe the RPG Book’s “Your Story” was the one that explained why incantations had to be in a different language

The need to use another language comes up in Fool Moon, when he has to cast a spell on MacFinn without speaking. I’m pretty sure he talks about focii in that book too..
I’ve worked literally ALL week because two of our employees have been gone. But I have tomorrow off, so tonight when I get home I’m going to stay up as late as it takes to finish following and updating! And hopefully next week won’t be as hectic as this week has been .__.
DF ASK PAGES: I HAVE gotten you asks. I’m keeping them in my box so I’ll remember who to add tonight when I get home. No worries, all will be taken care of!
Thank you guys for your patience <3 I’m sorry it’s taking so long, I just had a lot to catch up on!

Right off hand, I do not. He talks about that in a couple of books, I believe. But I’m sure that my other lovely followers would be glad to help you!
Hey everyone…anyone know!?!

Not even flaming shotguns can stop Sue.
That sounds like a challenge! But…don’t challenge him that. Kincaid will find a way, but I love dinosaurs too much to see Sue destroyed .___.
